Cardiff Rugby Football Club was founded in 1876 and played its first game at Sophia Gardens.
At club level Cardiff were Welsh League champions in 1994-95 and won the Welsh Cup in 1981, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1994 and 1997.
Cardiff has supplied more players for Wales than any other club and a succession of Cardiff captains have led their country.

Cardiff Council’s Marketing and Tourism service area has contributed £5,000 to the event with a further £5,000 coming from Cardiff 2005.

They have since had a number of rough years, but have seen a real upturn in these latest seasons thanks to an influx of talented players and coaches, and the future looks bright for the Blues.

Unfortunately, due to living over 100 miles from Cardiff for all of the last four seasons, travelling to see them wasn't an option for me, (limited funds to boot!) Gladly, I am now back in Cardiff and will be down the Arms Park this season supporting the best team in Wales.
They're a relatively small club based with Cardiff but are doing very well maintaining a place in the national first division.
