Carl Bildt, Swedish politician, born on July 15, 1949 in Halmstad.
Bildt was Prime Minister from 1991 to 1994, coincidentally an office that had been held by his great-great-grandfather Gillis Bildt[?], a century earlier.
After the term in government, he was active as mediator in the Balkans conflict and from 1999 to 2001 he served as the as the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for the Balkans.
