Carl Anthony Furillo (March 8, 1922 - January 21, 1989) was an American Major League Baseball right fielder and right-handed batter who played his entire career for the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers.
In his 15-year career, Furillo batted.299, with 192 homer uns, 1058 RBI, 895 runs, 1910 hits, 324 doubles, 56 triples, 48 stolen bases, a.458 slugging percentage and 514 walks for a.355 on base percentage.
Carl Furillo died in Stony Creek Mills, Pennsylvania at 66 years of age.

CARL FURILLO visited Busch Stadium with "The Boys of Summer" and used this bat in a Dodger-Cardinal series in July of 1955.
Furillo was one of Roger Kahn's famed "Boys of Summer." Kahn described him as "The Hard Hat Who Sued Baseball." Unfortunately, his career with the Dodgers ended on a sour note when he sued the Dodgers in 1960 for dropping him while he was injured.
CARL FURILLO was the right fielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers during their glory years in the late 1940s and '50s.

Carl Furillo, the right fielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers during their glory years in the late 1940’s and 50’s, died yesterday at his home at Stony Creek Mills, Pa. He was 66 years old.
Furillo, who was raised in Lower Alsace Township, Pa., near Reading, started playing baseball as an outfielder for the Pocmoke City in the Eastern Shore League at a salary of $80 a month.
Furillo wanted to finish his 15th season so he would qualify in the players’ pension fund and receive $285 a month compared to $30 a month less if he left when the Dodgers wanted him to leave.

While it is not likely that the Dodgers will ever retire #6 in his honor (but it would be nice), I would love to see Carl honored by being included in the Dodger Great Series on the LA Dodgers website.
I heard Johnny Wrostek of Cincinatti hit one time but was Carl in Right Field at the time.
