Pohlad's biggest fault is that he LOVES the art of the deal.
The difference between the Twins philosopy this year and the Twins philosophy three or four years ago isn't that Pohlad's gained a conscience or that Selig is pressuring anyone.
And all the money that Pohlad was supposedly pocketing doesn't even cover this one contract that the organization needs to risk to extend the 'Compete' phase.

The club would contribute $25 million in upfront cash -- roughly 1% of 88-year-old owner Carl Pohlad's net worth, according to the latest Forbes billionaires' list -- and the remaining $305 million would come from local taxes, which would not be subject to voter approval.
