Carl Dean Radle (born 18 June 1942 Tulsa, Oklahoma, died 30 May 1980) was an American musician, best known for being the bassist in Derek and the Dominos.
Radle worked with many well-known artists and was associated with many gold and platinum singles and albums.
Radle took clarinet and piano lessons during his childhood.

Another tragic footnote to the Dominos story was the fate of drummer Jim Gordon, who was an undiagnosed schizophrenic -- some years later, during a psychotic episode, he murdered his mother with a hammer and was confined to a mental institution, where he remains today.
Relatively clean again, Clapton put together a strong new touring band that included Radle, Miami guitarist George Terry, drummer Jamie Oldaker and vocalists Yvonne Elliman and Marcy Levy (later better known as Marcella Detroit of 1980s pop duo Shakespeare's Sister).

The songs are more instrumental than vocal in many cases and the instruments are quite well recorded, so the weakness is easily overcome.

Probably one of the most crushing moments for Carl was that he was never given credit as a writer for " Never Ending Song of Love ", Bobby remembers Carl being so excited about that song, and that it was being recorded.
It was touching and we all felt Carl's presence.
One of the happiest thoughts for Bobby was that Kay Poorboy rests next to Carl, she loved him so.

However, the title of this boot, and the fair quality rating assigned to it, leads me to believe that it is a recording of the second of the two Budokan nights from which "Just One Night" was taken.
