Gordon Kubanek, President of the Green Party Electoral District Association reminded participants that in Nepean Carleton, support for the Green Party continues to grow.
During the January 2006 election Nepean Carleton was among the top 20 Green ridings in Canada.
On January 11, CBC gave each national party the resources to produce a 3 minute story, which were then broadcast on that evening's edition of The National.

 Electoral Boundaries and Representation Commission
The Electoral Boundaries and Representation Act requires the Electoral Boundary and Representation Commission to establish the electoral quotient for the province by dividing the total population by the total number of electoral districts.
The electoral quotient (729, 498 divided by 55) is therefore 13,263.
In more simple terms, no electoral district may have more than a 2001 Census population of 14,589 and only in "extraordinary circumstances" may the population of an electoral district be less than 11,937.
