		Carleton Place (2005 population 9,600) is a town in eastern Ontario, Canada, in the County of Lanark, about one half-hour west of Ottawa on the southern branch of the Trans-Canada Highway.
		Some of the attractions of Carleton Place and surrounding area include Riverside Jam, Carleton Place Dragon Boat Festival, Morphy's Falls Heritage Festival, Carleton Place Canoe Club, Victoria School Museum, Canada Veteran's Hall of Valour, and of course the Mississippi River.

	History of Ontario's Kings Highways - Hwy 7B (Carleton Place)
		Carleton Place's Hwy 7B Business Route was originally known as Hwy 15B.
		In 1961, Hwy 15 was rerouted between Smiths Falls and Carleton Place.
		The old route of Hwy 15 between Perth and Carleton Place became Hwy 7, which resulted in the renumbering of the Business Route through Carleton Place as well.

		Moving around and seeing all these places is about a good a thing as we can do as it makes us fit as well as gives us a chance to see the country although it is fearfully expensive.
		This is a very nice place and everyone is exceptionally good and thoughtful with me. My night nurse and the sister who is here during the day have both been in Canada which makes it pleasant.

		For the first time in many years, the Carleton Place canoe club showed a strong "team" presence at the National championships held August 31st to September 3rd at the Olympic Basin in Montreal.
		Unfortunately, the midget boys crew succumbed to an unlucky lane assignment, but both the Midget girls and Juvenile girls crews had strong showings in the heats on Thursday and both crews qualified for the finals that were held on Saturday.
		The Carleton Place Canoe Club is a non-profit organization.
