Spanish rally driver Carlos Sainz was first in the car section and Portuguese rider Helder Rodrigues claimed the motorbike honours in the second stage of the Dakar Rally.
Carlos Sainz, 42, who drove a Volkswagen, finished the mountainous stage in a time of 59 minutes, 26 seconds and came home ahead of four Mitsubishis, led by Luc Alphand who was 29 seconds behind, and Joan Nani Roma was in third place.
Carlos Sainz is now in second position in the overall car standings and first-stage winner Carlos Sousa, who finished ninth on Sunday, kept the lead.
