 PR921917
The meeting was entirely unproductive, leading CUB to seek the relisting of the matter on 28 August 2002, in advance of the scheduled relisting of 3 September 2002.
It seems to me, and I suggested to the parties in conference, that the next step ought to be for CUB to develop a specific proposal as a basis for a practical negotiation between the parties.
The work area consultation to assist CUB to develop a specific proposal for discussion, and modification as required, would be on the basis of seeking a work area input into a specific proposal, not on the basis of negotiating an outcome or seeking agreement at the work area level.

The Carlton and United Brewery is the longest surviving brewery in the state and it originated as an old French distillery which was purchased in 1904 by the Melbourne Co-operative Brewery.
This was during a period of fierce competition amongst Victorian breweries and by 1907 there were a total of 37 in Melbourne alone.
Melbourne Co-operative Brewery proved to be a serious rival to CUB, however by 1925 shares in the Co-operative Brewery had been concentrated to a relatively small number of hands and a merger between the Co-operative Brewery and CUB took place.

So when Carlton and United Breweries (CUB), Australia's leading beer brewer, began to encounter greater market demand for specialty brands -- and greater competition from specialty brewers -- the company embarked on a $17 million plan to replace the filtration room of its Abbotsford Brewery in Melbourne, including the control system.
CUB project manager Ray Glastonbury noted that the Delta V system employs digital fieldbus technology -- essentially an all-digital, two-way communications system that interconnects measurement and control equipment -- that adheres to the stringent codes of the Fieldbus Foundation.
Currently, CUB is primarily using the DeltaV for gathering data on temperatures, conductivities, pressures, flow rates, densities, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels.
