CARLY PATTERSON: Patterson pushed aside any notion of beam bugaboos with two solid sets at camp, earning a 9.425 today despite a big bobble on her switch leap to back tuck.
CARLY JANIGA: A Karolyi favorite earlier this year, Janiga barely made it to camp—Martha told the youngster after Trials that she “didn’t have her on the list” following her day one struggles in Anaheim—but hoped to make the most of her youth and health once in the final group.
It was a mixed bag for Janiga, who notched solid, but unspectacular scores across the board (9.025 bars, 9.125 beam with a fall, 9.325 bars), with the exception of vault, where a clean Yurchenko double went 9.5.
