Prior to being elected, Lt. Governor Molnau served in the Minnesota House of Representatives, where she focused on holding the line on taxes and government spending as well as transportation issues.
The Molnau family owns and operates a farm and was even named "Farm Family of the Year" in 1984 by Farmer Magazine.
Carol and her husband Steve have three daughters and five grandchildren.

PAUL State Representative Carol Molnau (R-Chaska) has introduced legislation eliminating the vehicle emissions testing that is a source of frustration for many metro area residents.
Molnau's legislation would mean drivers would no longer be required to pay the $8 testing fee or wait in long lines to have their vehicles tested.
