One of the first Carolco films was Rambo: First Blood (1982), followed by the sequel Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) with Sylvester Stallone (who later signed a ten-picture deal with Carolco).
Carolco struggled for some years to secure the rights to Spiderman a property that Cameron was keen to produce as a film.

Although T2 went on to worldwide success (over twice the amount of its cost was made back), the bottom line was that Carolco was in poor financial shape.
