The Carolina Cobras were an expansion franchise in the Arena Football League.
They played their home games in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Raleigh Sports and Entertainment Arena (Now called the RBC Center) prior to the 2003 season, and were then based in the Charlotte Coliseum.
On September 20, 2004, the league announced the termination of this franchise; its players were made available to the other AFL teams in a dispersal draft.

The Cobras were outscored by a combined margin of 45 runs (111-66) in two games against Orlando and have not yet held an opponent under 40 points in a game this season.

Over 3,000 fans were on hand at the Charlotte Coliseum on Saturday for the second annual Fang Fest event, which allowed fans an up-close and personal look at the 2004 Carolina Cobras.
The Cobras’ helmet will also be gold this season with the Cobra-head logo inside a red oval.
The Cobras have entered into an agreement with Riddell which includes practice gear for the team’s players and coaches as well as promotional material such as mini replica helmets.

The Cobras went up 38-30 when Stewart Patridge completed an 11-yard TD pass to Bernard Holmes with 9:49 left in the fourth quarter, but Bowden barreled into the end zone from a yard out with 4:32 remaining and quarterback John Kaleo threw a two-point conversion to retie the contest.

An experience that was spent practicing and playing at the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena (Home of the Carolina Hurricanes), eating out at great restaurants, playing lots of golf, and best of all travelling the countryside.
Although it might not have been a successful season in the terms of wins and losses, I had a very successful year.
