The Piedmont train, which runs between Raleigh and Charlotte, was up 38 percent over last summer's June ridership from 3,217 to 4,442.
The Carolinian, which runs between Charlotte and Raleigh and continues to the Northeast, increased ridership 31 percent from 15,705 to 20,628.

Filmmakers from all over the country submitted films that included elements of urban culture with a wide spectrum of films dealing with subject matter including homosexuality, the hip-hop music industry, civil rights, witch doctors, and domestic violence.
The goal of the festival was to promote film in the Piedmont Triad, modeling after festivals such as Sundance and the Toronto Film Festival.
All this took place, right here in the middle of our campus in the EUC Auditorium and yet most UNCG students missed out.

The study zone consisted primarily of counties that were served by Amtrak's Carolinian and Piedmont trains; that is, from Charlotte to Washington, DC.
