Bennett attended Havergal College, obtained her degree in medicine from the University of Toronto in 1974, and received her certification in Family Medicine in 1976.
Bennett was chair of the Canada-Israel Friendship Group from 1999 to 2003 and is a member of Liberal Parliamentarians for Israel.

It’s always humbling to re-apply for a job, says Carolyn Bennett, the incumbent MP in St. Paul’s, but she’s confident her constituents want her back.
In the 2004 election, Bennett beat her nearest competitor, Conservative candidate Barry Cline, by 20,945 votes, but this year’s vote is could be much closer, as both Kent and Summerville are high-profile candidates.

MSP Assistant Susan Henninger – Carolyn and I talked, and Carolyn said she put $1,000 into the MSP Budget, which is fine, but I just wanted to clarify my understanding that there will not be any more fundraising.
Bennett reported someone from Ciaschi et al will come to help her close out the 2004-2005 Budget, set up for the annual audit, and open the 2005-2006 Budget.
