	Newport News-Times: Community opposition to Devils Lake grass carp proposal grows
		A plan to carpe carp ("seize the carp") - i.e., allow the removal of grass carp by anglers from Devils Lake in Lincoln City - has met with strong objections from the Devils Lake Water Improvement District board and members of the Preservation Association of Devils Lake.
		Although the lake is currently closed to the taking of grass carp, the proposal, if adopted, would allow anglers to catch and harvest two grass carp per day.
		Using a multifaceted approach, they introduced 27,00 sterilized grass carp in 1986-87, followed by another 5,000 in 1993, for one purpose only: To control the vegetation, which prior to their introduction had choked the lake, rendering it unusable for boating or fishing.
