Carthago Z is the son of Capitol I, one of the great modern Holsteiner showjumping sires.
Unusually for a Holstein jumping sire, Capitol carried no Cor de la Bryère blood, but he was richly endowed with the heritage of two great Thoroughbred descendants of the Bay Ronald line - Cottage Son xx and Manometer xx, he also carried a double cross of the influential anglo-arab, Ramzes.
Carthago is already the sire of seven approved sons.

First, let me give a bit of explanation for the ones who were lucky enough not to endure years of latin grammar and history during their childhood.
Delenda Est Carthago, or more exactly: “Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam” (”And therefore, I conclude that Carthage must be destroyed”), was the motto of Roman conservative senator Cato the Elder.
Even when the subject debated was in no way related, he would always weave in his subliminal message: “Carthago delenda est”…

Punic, of course, is just another adjective for someone from Carthage, which is so fitting for the man who was raised to be president in Carthage.
It was Cato the Elder in 157 B.C. who was so disgusted with the Carthaginian menace that he ended every speech with Delenda est Carthago, which means "Carthage must be destroyed." Tomorrow, you cannot destroy the ways of Carthage but you can defeat its greatest champion today.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Some readers are convinced that the phrase is "Carthago delenda est." Others violently contend it is "Delenda Carthago est." My understanding is that in Latin it doesn't matter which grammatical doohickies go where in the sentence.

After the Second Punic War, when Rome finally defeated Hannibal and established her superiority in the Mediterranean, she still lived in fear of a revival of Carthage.
The war party at Rome was headed by Cato, who, when delivering a speech in the senate, no matter what the subject, always ended with the same phrase: "Delenda est Carthago" - Carthage must be destroyed.
This chilling advice was carried out to the letter.
