When Cartoon Network first began, Turner vice-president Kitsie Riggall was quoted as saying it "would be more of a niche service." Instead, today Cartoon Network reaches a little over 27 million viewers and routinely ranks as one of the top 10 cable channels, reigning over more established networks like MTV, Comedy Central, and Court TV.
The new challenge for Cartoon Network is reorganizing the late-night line-up to secure ratings after their core audience is gone.
And it is that sense of wonder that powers the colors of Cartoon Network, which has managed to invent a world where irony and childishness coexist peacefully, a place where you can be hip and goofy at the same time.

The Cartoon Network's late-night alter ego has been teasing the addition of the show for the past week or so, and starting at midnight Monday, Zack, Slater and Screech will take their place beside Harvey Birdman, Frylock and Moral Orel in the Adult Swim pantheon.
A Cartoon Network spokesperson stresses that the show, which originally ran from 1989-93 and has been a syndication staple (including on Cartoon's sister network TBS) ever since, is only getting a two-week trial.
The network spokesperson, though, says that the sitcom's inclusion is nothing more than the byproduct of the affection some Adult Swim programmers have for the show.

Cartoon Network worked into the channel's mainframe and sucked out some time, and started to put in stuff like "What a Cartoon show" (Which, by the way, you can crap all about, because this WAS the start of mostly all of the CC cartoons!).
Cartoon Network jumped, and it jumped not when they actually rolled their own stuff (Which was decent and strange at first), but as the Cartoon Cartoons slowly took over the entire channel.
So far, the Cartoon Network has had enough consideration for its viewers not to use any of these gimmicks, which is funny, since its viewers are kids and adult cartoon fans, people with supposedly no attention span.
