Unbeknownst to the band, Jeanette was a classically trained singer who had began a Bachelor of Music at UCC but had dropped all opera aspirations in favour of the rhythm and style of the house scene.
Cartoons’ lead single, Move On, is the first song that she has ever penned.
She received the beats and bassline from Bob and Darragh in the post on Friday, wrote the lyrics and melody on Saturday and recorded it with the band on Sunday, all of which goes to underline the fact that Limerick is most famous for it’s slow horses and fast women.

Then again, it’s not often you find a cartoon band who have the kind of, uh, "backing" boasted by Gorillaz, a ragtag bunch of animated hitmakers comprising bassist Murdoc (a shady delinquent), guitarist Noodles (a tiny Japanese dynamo), keyboardist 2D (a cute but vacant Brit), and drummer Russel (hip-hop aficionado and the lone American).
The original idea was like, ‘Let’s create a cartoon band because in that way we won’t have to go on tour, they can do all the work, and we’ll just kind of sit back and collect royalty checks.’ But it didn’t really work out that way.

Early attempts at the cartoon band concept generally lacked music that reflected the popular music of the time accurately.
Listening to their debut album release, you couldn't escape the conclusion that the music was the driving force behind the creation of the group and that it would ultimately determine their success or failure.

There weren't many bands, so all gigs took place in bars and in small theatres we could count with basically the same But always upgrading crew of people.
Another really cool gig, was when the band FIREHOUSE show up in one of those Cartoon shows (They were in Brazil to promote at the time, The firehouse III album) and I sang don't treat me bad with the rest of the band.
The band split when I came to the USA for college, All songs were written by me and also as they said, it is not easy to find singers for this kind of music.

The cartoon followed the band as they befriend a fairy named Glitter (NOT voiced Mariah Carey, thank God), and try to find a way back to their own world.
Here we've got a band sucked through a mirror to an alternate dimension where they turn into cartoons, and then are chased around by a fat guy on a floating chair with some talking cats and followed around by a lesbian fairy!

The idea of a famous band people, playing in a cartoon band, it has possibilities.
They had "Murdoc," "2D" and the other characters superimposed onto real film, like that road in the photo, and they had trippy cartoons, and happy one, and sad ones, the whole emotional range, and of course a cartoon gorilla, and lots of movement throughout.
I loved the cartoon of the cartoon's checking out their own action figures.
