After reading eragon i was expecting alot out of this book and after getting halfway through i was disappointed by the lack of pace in eragons tale, however after the first half the book really picks up and the story comes together really well.
The story follows eragon to the homeland of the elves and roran(his Cousin) fighting his own battles in carvahall and also a few chapters follow the leader of the varden.
Despite the lack of action in the first half of the book the ending makes up for it as it is well thought out and answers some questions left hanging in the air by the previous book.
