Cass County is a county located in the state of North Dakota, USA.
It was one of the original counties defined in 1872, and was organized on October 27, 1873 at a meeting in Fargo.
In the county the population is spread out with 23.4% under the age of 18, 16.0% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who are 65 years of age or older.

The county is almost square, having an average east-west width of approximately 42 miles, a north-south length of 42 miles, and an area of 1750 square miles.
The Red River of the North is formed at the confluence of the Otter Tail and Bois de Sioux Rivers at Breckenridge, Minnesota, and Wahpeton, North Dakota.
