Cornet was probably the first Bordier (feudal official) for Fief le Roi in that area of St Peter Port, and gave his name to the bordage (area of land) for which he was responsible.
Castle Cornet is a small fortified islet at the entrance to St Peter Port harbour, and was originally called the Houmet Cornet
He confirms to the abbot and monks of St. Evroul a house in the chief street of Falaise near the shambles between the houses of William Francise and Garin de Hispania at the request of William de Magneto and his wife, to whose marriage portion it belonged.

Castle Cornet is a large castle in Guernsey, and former tidal island, which is now part of one of the breakwaters of St Peter Port's harbour, the main one in the island.
Formerly a tidal island, like Lihou on the west coast of Guernsey, it was first fortified as a castle between 1206 and 1256, following the division of the Duchy of Normandy in 1204.
With the advent of cannon and gunpowder, the castle was remodelled between 1545 and 1548.
