Castlevania's gameplay mechanics (they way characters move and the environments in which they move) closely resemble those of Zelda 64.
Castlevania's gameplay is almost identical to the original NES Castlevania, meaning that you walk five steps, kill a bunch of enemies, make some jumps, and then repeat.
Castlevania is a great throwback to a bygone era, an age when games weren't meant to be easy, and beating a game was a proud accomplishment.

The second character found in Castlevania 64 is Reinhardt Schneider, a descendant of the Belmont clan of vampire hunters whose members have starred in most games ever since the series beginning on the original Nintendo.
Still, Castlevania 64 offered the freedom of movement Capcoms survival horror title lacked and the idea a haunted mansion attracted me. Sadly enough, this was the only and somewhat short level of the sort, as the other sections of the game consisted of the same poorly designed platforming sequences.

In 1999 Konami released Castlevania on the Nintendo 64 and hoped that most people would overlook the fact that it sucks and spend their fifty bucks anyway.
Yes, those fan boys are quite right that Castlevania (64) is one giant mess, but playing a 3D platformer because you get to shoot bears, dogs and bats and because you have big bosoms seems like a waste as well.
If the "Castlevania 64" bill does pass Congress, I'll be on the first bus to Canada where the hot girls like dorks and where they'd never pass a law making you play anything on N64.

Another thing wrong with Castlevania 64 is the ways it blatantly rips off Zelda.
It seems as if the developers delayed Castlevania not because they wanted to avoid direct competition, but becausee they wanted to see what they could take from Zelda to save their own suffering product.
In the end, Castlevania 64 is just another average (hence the rating) N64 action/platformer that has nothing going for it but a few scary and startling moments and a bad commercial currently airing on MTV.
