ABOUT 5,000 board feet of illegally-cut lumber in Catanduanes were seized on a series of operations conducted by the joint policemen and personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
In a report to Camp Crame, Philippine National Police Region 5 Chief Restituto Mosqueda said his men and DENR personnel assigned in Catanduanes raided several warehouses located in the town of Caramoran and San Andres last December 8 and confiscated from there undocumented 3,198 board feet of mahogany lumber and 263 board feet of narra.
All the confiscated lumber and cutting equipment were placed under the custody of the DENR in Virac, Catanduanes for proper disposition.
