Catch Without Arms doesn't flow from song to song like El Cielo did.
They have had a following, but Catch Without Arms goes with a more mainstream sound than their earlier CDs, and that is not neccesarily a bad thing.
The last song on the album, and the longest at 5:36.

 Vampire-Magazine.com - Interviews - Meshuggah - Catch 22.. But With a Twist
When you are writing 10 songs, worth 45 minutes on an album, then you are working in a song-orientated structure where you got 5 minutes for a song and when you think you are done, you move on to the next song.
In a sense “Catch 33” is a strange album, because it is 47 minutes long and it is all about dynamics.
Guitarist Martin was really eager to spread his views on the new album, on the state of metal in Sweden and he shot down some persistent rumours about the band in the process.

Catch 22 Articles, Interviews & Reviews
Catch 22 is currently touring in support of the new release with Sum 41 and Bowling for Soup, as well as hitting a few shows with Reel Big Fish.
Catch 22 has smooth sailing when releasing their sophomore album, “Washed Up.” In the summer of 2000, the band added trombone player, Ian McKenzie from the late, Edna’s Goldfish.
But when I joined Catch 22, I left college, and there was a little bit of tension, but they’ve been really supportive the whole way through, and it wasn’t exactly what they wanted be to do, but they stuck by my decision.

 PunkROCKS.net CD Review - Catch 22 - Keasbey Nights
This is the debut album of Catch 22, a New Jersey-based new-school punk/ska band on hardcore giant, Victory Records.
Catch 22 plays fast, but light-hearted ska, with heavy punk rock influences, in a Link 80 or Less Than Jake vein.
Track 3 is easily the first song people will latch onto on this album - it is an infectious pop-ska song with a chorus that reminds you of a drinking song.

 Ink 19 :: Catch 22
Despite the peppy music, Catch 22 sings about some dark stuff, like in "What Goes Around Comes Around" where vocalist Jeff Davidson sings "Your father is also your pain/I love you and for us I'll shoot him down." I won't ruin the ending of the song, but it's not your typical teenage love angst.
This album is short (the longest song is 3:09), but each song includes manic horn riffs over ska guitar and tricky vocals that make it hard to keep up.
But other than that, Alone in a Crowd is a unique album that I hope will earn Catch 22 some attention.

Encyclopaedia Metallum - Reviews for Meshuggah - Catch 33
Catch 33 is pretty much the same set up and design as I, with little breaks in the music to extend the length of the song.
With the release of Catch Thirty Three, Meshuggah have flexed their muscles, taken a deep breath, and produced a very slow paced, half hard-hitting, half droning 47 minute song.
Catch 33 by MESHUGGAH is not an album, but rather one big ass song.

Amazon.com: Music: Live From the Middle East [EXPLICIT LYRICS] [LIVE]
Honestly the one low point of the album is the song Royal Oil, I'm just not a fan of that song, I actually think it's one of the worst song's they've ever recorded.
Between the awesome blend of songs from all their albums and the raw energy being witnessed, this cd can please anyone who's in the room.
Live from the Middle East is definately worth the money, of course nothing will ever capture the essence of the Bosstones live but this cd comes extremely close, you should definately check them out if you get the chance to.

Catch 22 Articles, Interviews & Reviews
Not to lose out on a great opportunity to suck in their listeners, Catch 22 has made a joke of the garbled and incoherent lyrics and are holding a contest asking their audience to provide the lyrics for the song.
The last eight and a half minutes of the EP is a recording from a live show and contains two and a half songs from Keasbey Nights (Catch 22's debut album for Victory Records).
The original "American Pie" runs approximately seven and a half minutes, I imagine done in a ska-punk style Catch 22 could have trimmed that down to about four minutes and created one hell of a mosh song.

Divided up into 13 parts, the longest being the 13-plus minute "In Death - Is Death," Catch winds and twists like any normal Meshuggah song ever has - it just does so on a much grander scale, allowing the band to really explore the textures of their deep, complex riffing.

If this song does well it's not going to say anything about "how silly the pop/dance industry" is. What it IS going to say is how powerful the internet combined with TV is as a marketing tool, and how much people want to help their fellow man who is in trouble.
i must say that wha you are doing is truly remarkable not many people would have taken the time and effort to put this together i am sure that the tsunami relieft will be greatful for all the people who will buy this song.

And while it may seem like a backwards feat to tackle a Beach Boys song, Catch 22 cover “Wreck of the Sloop John B” with such intensity it nearly eclipses every other song on the album.
Catch 22 is surprisingly – well, maybe not surprisingly as they’re the first ska band to be added to the Victory label – good.
But the entire experience is a powerhouse of trumpet, trombone, sax and sophisticated, driving bass lines that establish Catch 22 as a new threat to the pop-heavy punk music scene.

Formed in 1995, Catch Veronica entered Toronto's CFNY's new music search, winning the final track on the CD with the gloomy rocker "Whole".

CD Review: dredg, Catch Without Arms - Arts
Catch Without Arms explores the limits of "sensitive metal." Song after song, we hear the sad words of an uncertain man in exploration of his soul.
When I first clicked into Catch Without Arms, I was expecting dredg's usual onslaught of mildly entertaining guitar riffs set against the emotionally charged beacon of light that is Gavin Hayes's voice.
It seems as if, like El Cielo, Catch Without Arms is a long string of slightly varied hard-rock themes under tremulous vocals.

The song "Catch Without Arms," - the album& namesake - is a nice feature.
The lyrics contribute simply because they are audible, and the electric guitar is a nice addition to the track, providing a point of reference for the song.

 411mania.com » Music » Catch-22 - Dinosaur Sounds Review
The entire album may be best described by the lyrics in “Beguile the Time—it “hits like a ton of feathers when it echoes”(ok, in the song that’s meant to be a negative comment on society but here I mean that as a compliment).
A general description of the songs on the album would be: start off with a great trumpet or sax opener, open the song up to some ska or alternatively, punk chord progressions, then fuse it all together for the chorus—effectively the sonic metaphor of a fastball, curveball and change-up all at once.
The songs on the album are fluid and energetic—it’s a quick album to begin with (clocking in at 33 minutes) but the direct and straightforward rock out nature of each songs leave no time to think about that.

More bounce is provided on Wine Stained Lips, which is probably the song that is closest to the older Catch 22 sound, and therefore, the song most likely to get the crowds moving at shows in the next couple of months as they get used to the new material.
While Dinosaur Sounds is not quite the classic that Keasbey Nights was (and is to this day), it's still a solid album that proves the band is growing and developing as songwriters and musicians.
With the release earlier this month of their third full length studio album (they also have a CD comprised of two EPs and some live performances), it marks their third CD with someone new handling the vocal duties.
