| | THE METAL OBSERVER - Review - HYPOCRISY - Catch 22 |
 | | “Catch 22” keeps a really equal level from the beginning to the end and if there’s one thing we could reproach it, in comparison with earlier works, is the absence of a real highlight. |
 | | First of all, I would like to make clear that HYPOCRISY is one of the bands I most admire and respect and until I knew about Tägtgren’s side project PAIN for the first time, I thought about that man as a genius unable to do something wrong. |
 | | It is also a mostly monotonous release, lacking brutal discharges and clean ballads (though “Edge Of Madness” and “All Turns Black” make mild attempts), being all the songs in a similar tempo and sharing the musical concept. |
