  Catch Phrases
First, consider the phrase "when all is said and done." Once, this phrase was clever and original, but so many millions of writers and speakers have used it so many times over so many years that the phrase has become automatic and nearly meaningless.
This type of worn-out phrase is called a catch phrase, and you should always avoid it in your writing, unless you are quoting someone else: you own, original words are always more interesting.
A particularly stale catch phrase -- especially one which was once particularly clever -- is a cliché.

In the professional wrestling arena, catch phrases are often essential to a wrestler’s gimmick.

After the catch phrase is recognized as such by the public, it is often co-opted into everyday vernacular.
Also called a memetic phrase, a catch phrase often originates in popular culture and the arts, and typically spreads through a variety of mass media (such as literature and publishing, motion pictures, television and radio), as well as word of mouth.

Catch phrase - Information from Reference.com
A catch phrase (or catchphrase) is a word, phrase or expression recognised by its repeated utterance.
Such memetic phrases often originate in popular culture and the arts, and typically spread through a variety of mass media (such as literature and publishing, motion pictures, television and radio), as well as word of mouth.
Some catch phrases become the de facto "trademark" of the person or character with whom they originated, and can be instrumental in the typecasting (beneficially or otherwise) of that actor.

Twin Galaxies Forums :: View topic - TV Land's "Top 100 Catch Phrases of All Time"
And from the list of extremely memorable catch phrases that inexpicably did NOT make the list, here are just a select five (5) that I can easily suggest should be considered an all time classic...which also proves that such lists, whether TV or game related, are never truly accurate...
In that case, saying a common phrase I suppose with the exact inflections of the originating user, such as what another TV watcher suggested ("Good Evening" by ALfred Hitchcock) might actually be considered a "catch phrase", but when the words are spoken without the same inflection, they are simply just words and nothing more.
While I agree that this phrase actually belongs on such a list, I believe that this *exact* phrase was never actually uttered on any of the original Star Trek episodes.
