In France, Portugal, Scandinavia and Spain, the rank of prince was limited to members of the reigning dynasty, but the title was also sometimes borne by non-royal nobles in the Balkan countries, Bohemia, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Russia.
This continued through 1678 with the birth of Heinrich XVI, and the next birth, in 1693, was Heinrich I. This sequence continued through the entire Senior Branch, which didn't have very many males, down to 1878 with the birth of Heinrich XXIV, the last male of the Senior Branch, who died unmarried in 1927.
