Today's Take: Revisioning Bush's 'revisionist history'
These revisionist "historians" argue that far fewer Jews died than history books teach; in fact, they claim the inflated numbers were a Jewish plot to justify the establishment of the state of Israel.
Their "scholarship" was revisionist history that denied 6 million Jews died in Nazi extermination camps.
But those who challenged U.S. intelligence or claim war in Iraq was a done deal even without the "facts on the ground" are hardly in the same category as those who denied the evidence that millions of people were massacred in the Holocaust.

Naked Science explores revisionist history and simple web page design
July's Fortean Times has an article about a book of history which is distributed in Russia which claims that world history is wrong; it claims that Russia has dominated many countries and that it has a really prominent history which modern history books do not mention because....
The great thing about rewriting history is that you can indoctrinate young people with your stories and then later they will tell it to their children as fact and then, within a couple of generations, it is as real as our history is real to us today.
So revisionism of history is not really all that difficult: a rich body can promote its portals to be the most popular and then people will surf text and multimedia from that point of entry - and see the version of history that the body wishes them to see.

The “urban” religious history was almost absent from the history of the ROC (25) until Gregory Freeze published an article in 1991 on the church’s “urban mission” in post-reform Russian.(26) In the first half of the nineteenth century the Church, surprisingly, was little concerned with its position in urban centers.
However, Nikol’skii was mainly concerned with the church history prior to the nineteenth century and explained the role of the ROC in the last pre-revolutionary decades superficially or not at all.
