 2002 Academy Awards® Winners
For the only time in Academy Award history, five animated films qualified for the category, and surprisingly, only one was completely or purely CGI (Ice Age).
The winner of Best Animated Feature Film, the second year of the category's existence, was the magical, ecological-minded Japanese anime Spirited Away, created by legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki, who wrote and directed the beautiful and evocative cel-animated movie (the only traditionally-animated film to win the award).
It was also the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time.

The category of this answer is GCSE; History; Second World War; Major Battles and events
The Japanese were notoriously fanatical soldiers in the Second World War, who rarely surrendered and fought on bitterly in the face of obvious defeat.
Although by mid 1945, the Japanese were steadily retreating and had not won a successful victory against the Americans for some time, many believed this was the case.

The Food Timeline: history notes--Asian-American cuisine
"In Japanese cooking, skillets are not summarily put aside in favor of charcoal fires and skewers...Since the use of a pan or griddle also is defined by the verb 'yaku', such cooking is a part of the wide 'yakimono' ("grilled things") category.
Cooking skewered foods over charcoal is the orthodox Japanese method; the use of a pan is something of a stepchild or secondary technique, though often employed.

IJN Aircarft Carrier Zuikaku - Alan Chung
I have seen the Author's stunning model of the IJN Zuikaku (which took 1st place in it's category at the 2003 Model Expo in Melbourne) and am somewhat suprised that the booklet does not include a short section on building the 1/700 Tamiya kit as this would also be of more value to the modeller.
While it is appreciated that information on Japanese colours is often conflicting and requires research, the absence of any colour information will make the modellers job that much more difficult.
There is a brief precis of IJN Zuikaku's service history as well as a brief look at the design process of the ship.

The Japanese American Internment refers to the controversial, forcible relocation of approximately 112,000 to 120,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans, 62 percent of whom were United States citizens, from the west coast of the United States during World War II to hastily constructed housing facilities called War Relocation Camps in remote portions of the nation's interior.
Historically, Asian Americans have largely been perceived as members of the East Asian ethnic groups, specifically Chinese and Japanese, the two largest ethnic groups before 1965, as well as Filipinos who became colonial subjects of the US in 1898 due to the Spanish-American War (also see Philippine-American War).

 Vocabulary
The native Japanese words constitute the largest category, followed by words originally borrowed from China in earlier history, and the smallest but a rapidly growing category of words borrowed in modern times from Western languages such as English.
It is also important to note that in the northern island of Hokkaido, the Ainu people, who are physically and culturally different from the rest of the Japanese, speak a language that has even more successfully escaped attempts to relate it to a single language family.
Vowel length often distinguishes words, as in to for "door" and too for "ten." The basic consonants are: /k/, /s/, /t/, /n/, /h/, /m/, /y/, /r/, /w/, and the syllabic nasal /N/.
