Suffer Little Children (Time Out): The Zero 5.0laf - The Official Website of Andrew Vachss
Both Vachss and the Yard also agree that paedophiles who indulge their tastes either by using material or abusing minors are likely to be, in Vachss' words, the "socially advantaged criminal category: doctors, lawyers, teachers, businessmen, clergymen, all have featured in recent convictions.
The CPU is part of the Obscene Publications Branch of the Yard, whose job is not only to infiltrate the security conscious paedophile rings around Britain and to discover links with groups of similar people on the Continent, but to spend hours sifting through acres of obscene material: videos, slides, pictures.
Imports from Holland, Germany and Denmark are now much stronger, including material as disgusting as that instanced by Vachss; and while there are more than 3,000 known paedophiles active in the porn industry, as both suppliers and consumers, the real figures are thought to be much higher.

This past Sunday, 23 October, I posted a review of Stephen King's The Colorado Kid, his new novel for the Hard Case Crime paperback line.
While Conner's prose is at times strong enough to make you momentarily forget how by-the-numbers the whole thing feels, even the balls-to-the-wall finale can't lift the book above the category of "decent time-killer" into the bleak stratosphere populated by Cain and all-too-few of his would-be successors.

KING ARTHUR FOREVER--The Arthurian Comics Discusson List--The Medieval Comics Project, Part 1 (HISTORY)
However, for the purposes of this hand list to medieval-themed comics, I have chosen to focus on the contributions by writers (wr.), pencilers (pen.), inkers (ink.), and artists (art.), a category used when the functions of penciler and inker are combined.
In the tradition of popular comic strips and panel cartoons (like Hagar the Horrible, The Far Side, and Non Sequitur), Hardin also employs anachronism in this cartoon that features a Viking at the beach and wearing a flotation device resembling a Viking longship.
Comics by their very nature are a collaborative medium with the finished product reflecting the work and input of many creative artists.

Hearts in Atlantis Movie Review by Anthony Leong from MediaCircus.net
The latest film to be inspired by the words of Stephen King, "Hearts in Atlantis", fits squarely in this second category, as it is a heartwarming look at the innocence of youth, the ties of friendship, and the things worth remembering.
With the careful direction of Scott Hicks ("Shine") and the measured dialogue of scribe William Goldman ("The Princess Bride"), "Hearts in Atlantis" is awash in tenderness and nostalgia, similar in tone to "Stand By Me", another Stephen King adaptation from 1986.
Films adapted from Stephen King novels come in two types.

The Order of Saint Stephen of Tuscany (Ordine di Santo Stefano di Toscana)
[9] The Grand Duchy of Tuscany was reconstituted as the Kingdom of Etruria under Lodovico, former Duke of Parma, and the new king became Grand Master of the Order by the terms of the peace of Lunéville on 9 February 1801.
[4] The Order reached the apogee of its power under the Grand Magistery of Ferdinand I, who was responsible for the construction of the Church of Saint Stephen in Pisa - the population of this city doubled between the foundation of the Order and 1613.
As a Religious Order of the Holy Roman Church the sole authority able to abolish the Order of Saint Stephen was the Pope, and the Holy See has never recognized or confirmed its illegal suppression.

Horror fiction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nevertheless, contemporary writers such as Clive Barker in The Books of Blood and Stephen King in his more considered work, such as Misery, are capable of bringing off the horror effect without the excessive violence that characterises much of the current mainstream of this genre.
Since the 1960s, any work of fiction with a morbid, gruesome, surreal, exceptionally suspenseful or frightening theme has come to be called "horror." Horror fiction often overlaps with science fiction and/or fantasy, all of which have been placed under the umbrella category speculative fiction.
Modern horror fiction found its roots in the gothic novels that exploded into popularity in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, typified by Ann Radcliffe's The Mysteries of Udolpho and Horace Walpole's The Castle of Otranto.
