 Theory & Psychology
CARLA BLUHM is a doctoral student at Teachers College, Columbia University: earlier version of her article won the first annual G. James Cagnoni essay contest at Teachers College.
She has written on deconstruction, poststructuralist theory and the carnivalesque nature of the television talk show, and she is presently employed as a geriatric psychotherapist while working on her dissertation.
The theories of Saussure, Lacan and Derrida are employed in interpreting how the signifying forces of postmodernism work upon our being and contribute to other-and self-knowledge.

 The Fleeting Moment in Dance
The closest to a category 3 moment in dance is perhaps the entrance of Cupid in "Daphnis and Chloe" by Graham Murphy (Sykes, 1980:23).
Dance critics are particularly adept at these, such as the comment that "Jooss's chipper choreography makes the infanta look like a gamboling sofa" (Croce, 1978:212).
However, other dance styles may also convey emotional feelings.

In this case, there seems to be significant evidence to show that some, at least, of the "faith" teachers have a heretical view of God, as well as a heretical view of the nature of the believer.
In recent years ministries which specialize in discerning orthodox from heretical teachings have been using the term "aberrational" to describe teachings which do not fit neatly into either the orthodox or heretical category.
Yet too many statements have been made by these teachers which can only be called heretical, though it may be that such statements are due to carelessness or hyperbole and not actual heretical belief.

Norm theory assumes that it is impossible to hold all of one's knowledge about all of the members of a given category in working memory simultaneously.

(1991) asked experimental participants to think of a typical voter, most called to mind a man, which showed that the category norm for "voter" is instantiated largely by male exemplars (despite the fact that there are an equal number of male and female voters).

 Renaissance Society of America
RSA will create a new category of Society membership specifically targeted to middle and high school teachers.
The NEH Institutes for High School Teachers sponsored by the Society were proving enormously successful, but beyond the limited number of teachers admitted to those programs, the RSA had little effect on the teaching of the Renaissance at the middle school and high school level.
RSA has created an ambitious outreach program which, if realized, will allow our membership through the Society to have a significant effect on the way Renaissance Studies are taught in the United States and Canada at the middle school and high school level.

Education Update - Ambrosia Software's Snapz Pro X
As the first generation of students to be raised with digital technology has arisen, it's brought another new generation right along with it: the first generation of teachers needing to teach digital technology to their classes.
Teachers with less than ideal experience with the software on their classroom's syllabus can easily make professional looking videos in their preparation time, eliminating the potential struggle demonstrating on a computer "live" in class often creates.
Well, one product that falls squarely in that category is Ambrosia Software's Snapz Pro X. If there's one principle virtually everyone agrees on, it's that most people learn more easily by watching than listening.

The LOM meta-metadata category is an appropriate place to declare the dependencies of the metadata record with ontologies, and links to ontology terms can be put into the Classification category (this is preferred to using the Annotation category, since the latter is used in the LOM standard as a way to attach unstructured, informal comments).
Nonetheless, this form of annotation (depicted conceptually in Figure 2, where a TaxonPath element is associated to a class in an ontology, denoted generically by the <> UML stereotype) represents a concrete sentence depending on the specified purpose (an enumeration defined in the standard: idea, prerequisite, educational objective, etc.).

Self-Help Activities among Internally Displaced Persons
Displaced teachers in many countries have for example taken the initiative to help children who are unable to continue their schooling, by organising literacy classes, play activities, etc., even when in most cases they have few resources and little equipment at their disposal.
The focus of this chapter is on the category of internally displaced persons, a social category which was created to describe people living in refugee-like circumstances, but within the territory of their own country, and who are therefore primarily the responsibility of the government of that particular country.
Although they do not formally belong to the category of internally displaced persons, the fact that they are often discriminated against in demobilisation and reintegration programmes, and unable or unwilling to return to their home village after years in military service, makes their situation comparable to that of many other displaced people.
