If you read reviews of Cathe's tapes in other magazines, they can sometimes seem a bit intimidating, as they often stress that the workouts are designed for ADVANCED exercisers.
Cathe almost always shows lower intensity versions of the exercises so that even if you aren't quite advanced enough, you can still do the workout (although if you are a beginner, give this a pass for now and work up to it).
Personally, I don't know anybody as fit as Cathe Friedrich, and even she says she doesn't expect you to do this entire tape at high intensity.

Cathe sure does kick butt on Boot Camp, that's a good one.
My favorite Cathe videos are the kickbox ones - Cardio Kicks and Kick, Punch and Crunch, but my ultimate goal is to be able to complete the Boot Camp one - that will kick my butt.
The first video I got by her was Maximum Cardio and when I did the step part, I was sooo lost.

 Cathe Friedrich's Hardcore Series: Muscle Max DVD & FREE Resistance Band
This is the first Cathe strength workout I've tried, and I found it to be intense and challenging without being gruelling.
Cathe uses a variety of equipment in this workout, including a barbell, several sets of dumbbells, a full club step, and a toning band, but I was able to get by without the barbell, step, or band (although my modifications may have further lowered the intensity of the workout).
Another thing I liked about this workout was that Cathe allows plenty of time between exercises, thereby providing you with an opportunity to rest AND to change your weights as needed.

One thing I do is NOT turn my back to the TV everytime she is turning her back to the camera.
Her step stuff is overly complicated for my enjoyment so I don't plan to buy anymore Cathe step anything.
If you are into videos, Cathe is the Advanced Exercise Queen which would be right up there with you.

It took me longer to become comfortable with the choreography of this tape than it does with most of the exercise videos I have done, but it was worth it!
Despite the intimidating warnings (not to mention Cathe's Ultra-Fit persona), this is an excellent tape to help push intermediate level steppers to the next level.
If you've done enough step workouts prior to ordering one of Cathe's tapes, it's easy to make her choreography low impact if you get over exerted or winded.

A couple of months ago, I was huffing and puffing through Cathe Friedrich's Rhythmic Step and noticed a weird sound whenever I jumped up on the platform's right side.
I checked it out and there it was: a crack in the hard plastic, which was splitting from the bottom.
Rhythmic Step, Cathe Friedrich: Your heart and brain both work hard, thanks to advanced choreography, but it's tons of fun.

Choreographically, I'd say it's easy for Cathe (though tough for those used to Firms) - the intensity is high, the complicated moves are few.
Not a good Cathe workout to start off with - but excellent for a challenging all-out cardio followed by an endurance upper body set.
I think Cathe's upper body sculpting is much more thorough than the Firm's and often do the lower body sculpting from a tape like Body Sculpt or Super Body Sculpt and then tack on the upper body and ab portion from Body Max.
