In the undercroft of the Cathedral of the Incarnation, Garden City in the Diocese of Long Island in a show case is what is claimed to be the original Episcopal Flag, It was designed by a member of the Cathedral William M. Baldwin who was a diocesan delegate to General Convention.
William Baldwin's flag is framed and was in the Cathedral House until I moved it to the undercroft.
Baldwin was asked to give the original crib-sheet model to the archives of the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. but he said he would make them a duplicate, which he did, presenting the original, however, to the Cathedral of the Incarnation, his own church.

After the youngest child was old enough to go to pre-school, the powerful and familiar pull of the classroom drew Bertie to Holy Rosary Academy, where she taught 6th and 8th grades from 1962 to 1965.
When Cathedral High School merged with Father Ryan High School in 1970, Bertie moved to Elliston Place and continued her teaching while serving as the girls' guidance counselor and college counselor for the school.
She also served as the principle organist at the Cathedral and was an active member of the Organist Guild in Nashville.
