Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to the American Catholic magazine, Commonwealth, [1] the CPCA is neither a Church itself, nor are China's Catholics required to be members of the organization.
However, despite the difficulties that have confronted China's Catholics over the last sixty years, the Vatican has never declared the Chinese Catholics attending CPCA church services to be schismatic, despite calls to do so by organizations outside of China[2].
Most reports, it said, indicate that the main obstacle is the PRC Government's fear of being undermined by the Catholic Church, especially since Pope John Paul II was widely seen as having partially influenced the fall of Communist governments in Poland and other Eastern European countries.

Steven White, president of the Catholic Medical Association and chairman of the task force that produced the statement, said in a telephone interview that most physicians recognize that the nation's health care delivery system is having a harmful effect on the doctor-patient relationship.
The "Catechism of the Catholic Church" inspired the statement's authors to portray Catholic medicine as a cathedral, with Jesus as the cornerstone.
The organization hopes this dialogue will be carried out within the Catholic Church and within the halls of government, he added, with a goal of developing a new health care system that improves the practice of medicine and respects human dignity and the sanctity of every human life.

Association of ideas is not, therefore, a discovery of English psychology, as has often been asserted.
Besides these primary laws of association, various secondary laws are enumerated, such as the laws of frequency, vividness, recentness, emotional congruity, etc. These determine the firmness of the association, and consequently the preference given to one state over another, in the recall.
Association of ideas is a fact of everyday experience which furnishes an important basis for the science of psychology, yet it must be remembered that the laws of association offer no ultimate explanation of the facts observed.
