The ordination of women in the Roman Catholic Church
In fact, both Vatican II and the new Code of Canon Law have failed to resolve satisfactorily the thorny complex of canonical and ecclesiological questions regarding the function and authority of the Roman curia.
The Supreme Pontiff, in virtue of his office, possesses infallible teaching authority when, as supreme pastor and teacher of all the faithful, whose task is to confirm his fellow believers in the faith, he proclaims with a definitive act that a doctrine of faith or morals is to be held as such.
In the teaching of Vatican I, Vatican II and the new Code of Canon Law it is clear that the infallibility of the college of bishops when dispersed throughout the world is to be distinguished from the infallibility of papal teaching.

Caudron GIII AJBS Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis History UK
Assembled in Rue City, the G.3, made her debuts on the Crotoy City airfield, where the Caudron brothers possessed an active piloting school, she was a "sesquiplan", the lateral control being assured by the warping of the wing.
In parallel, she was produced by other companies, while the Caudron brothers won't ask for the slightest rights regarding their patent, showing by this way their highest patriotic mind.
Several original units still exist, one of them is at display at the RAF museum in Hendon, Great Britain, the Caudron G.3 was able to reach a maximal speed of 108 kph in flight level, a 4 000 meters service ceiling, with a flight autonomy of four hours.

Swashplate engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 1914 the company moved to London to become the Statax Engine Company and planned on introducting a series of rotary engines; a 3 cylinder of 10 hp, a 5 cyl of 40 hp, a 7 cyl of 80 hp, and a 10 cyl of 100 hp.
It appears only the 40 hp design was ever produced, and installed in a Caudron G.II for the British 1914 Aerial Derby but was withdrawn before the flight.
Hansen introduced an all-aluminum version of this design in 1922, but it is not clear if it was produced in any quantity.

 Les Avions Caudron
A detailed history of the early years of the Caudron brothers and their aircraft is particularly fascinating for its multitude of fl and white photos, most of which were quite new to me. The first chapters cover the individual models of the A to O series.
A separate chapter deals with the G models (G.II G.III and G.IV) built in quantity during the 1914-18 War, and another covers the later 3-seater 'fuselage' machines of the R series used until the end of that war.
The little Caudron G.III was a particularly widely used machine, at first on general reconnaissance duties and artillery spotting, but later relegated to training because of its reliability and ease of piloting.

Among the many World War II aircraft preserved at the National Air and Space Museum, the Swoose, with its distinctive half-goose, half-swan artwork, is one that actually flew combat missions.
The first man-made object recovered from space by the United States, it was launched by a Jupiter-C rocket from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on Aug. 8, 1957, reached an altitude of 270 miles, and was retrieved after a down-range flight of 1,149 nautical miles.
The World War I Caudron g.4, one of the first long-range bombers and one of the first armed with a machine gun, will be on display, as will the fully assembled Enola Gay, the b-29 that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, in August 1945.

The pilot, Lafont noted, was unhurt but quite shaken as he was "covered with blood, {his} clothes and face, for in the wind of the motors, the blood that poured out of the passenger's wound lashed him." Another time, Lafont's squadron commander assigned him to burial detail.

The advent of World War I saw an explosion in the number France's aircraft, though development slowed after.
While having many promising designs in development in the 1930s, government wrangling delayed development enough there was little available at the out break of World War II.
The surrender in 1940 marked a low point, with development halting and many aircraft being captured and used by Vichy France and the Third Reich.

The E.III produced terror among Allied pilots out of all proportion to its capabilities, creating what was known as the "Fokker Scourge," until more advanced Allied fighters, such as the agile French Nieuport 11 and Britain's Airco DH.2, tipped the scales in the Allies' favor.
