Assembled in Rue City, the G.3, made her debuts on the Crotoy City airfield, where the Caudron brothers possessed an active piloting school, she was a "sesquiplan", the lateral control being assured by the warping of the wing.
Ordered in large series, this airplane was built by Caudron in the new factory in Lyon City and to Issy-les-Moulineaux City during the first months of the conflict.
In parallel, she was produced by other companies, while the Caudron brothers won't ask for the slightest rights regarding their patent, showing by this way their highest patriotic mind.

Addendum: The Beige Scourge [Archive] - The Aerodrome Forum
The NASM Caudron is indeed of a quite yellowish tawny hue, but period photographs of the type do not look like Eindeckers, either with respect to tonality or translucency.
The Italian marked Caudron from Rhinebeck could very well appear like the one in German markings with the lighter tonal range that you show in the postcard.
The NASM Caudron G.IV (not G.III) is painted yellow and is considered one of the best surviving examples of the "yellow period" of French aircraft finishes.

 Les Avions Caudron
A detailed history of the early years of the Caudron brothers and their aircraft is particularly fascinating for its multitude of fl and white photos, most of which were quite new to me. The first chapters cover the individual models of the A to O series.
A separate chapter deals with the G models (G.II G.III and G.IV) built in quantity during the 1914-18 War, and another covers the later 3-seater 'fuselage' machines of the R series used until the end of that war.
The little Caudron G.III was a particularly widely used machine, at first on general reconnaissance duties and artillery spotting, but later relegated to training because of its reliability and ease of piloting.

The canvas bags full of hot air were all but defenseless; they were easy to shoot down, especially once pilots started arming their planes with incendiary bullets.
The aircraft had advanced from the fragile Wright-like designs of the early war years to the more stable and better-designed biplanes including the D.H.-2 (1915-Britain) and the Caudron G-III (1915-France).
The former was a forward-firing aircraft with a propellor positioned in the rear of the plane, behind the pilot, allowing the gun to be accessible to the pilot for in-flight repair and reloading (this so-called "pusher" plane design enjoyed a brief period of popularity during 1914-1915).
