Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island is located off the eastern coast of Canada, nestled between the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Québec, and Newfoundland in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The Island’s population of about 138,000 is small compared to other Canadian provinces, but it is the most densely populated with 24.3 persons per square kilometer (62.8 persons per square mile).
Agriculture, tourism, fishing and forestry are the primary industries on the Island, with farming heading the list.
