There are three post-offices in the town of Cazenovia, one at Cazenovia village, one at New Woodstock, and one at Chittenango Falls, The population of Cazenovia village was 1,918 in 1880, and in 1890 it was 1,987, showing a small increase.
Cazenovia village is beautifully situated on Chittenango Creek and at the foot on the east shore of the lake which bears the same name.

The Town of Cazenovia was established in 1793 by the Towns of Whitestown, New York and Paris, New York (both in Oneida County, New York, before the creation of Madison County.
In the town the population was spread out with 24.0% under the age of 18, 12.8% from 18 to 24, 23.5% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 years of age or older.

Cazenovia is home to the annual Franklin Trek, a 51-year-old August meet on the Cazenovia College campus attended by Franklin aficionados from all over the world.
"Citizens of Cazenovia were especially enthusiastic about the prospects of the Franklin Museum, as its mission of historic preservation fit perfectly with the character and aspirations of the village," stated a release from the foundation announcing the relocation.

The small town of Cazenovia, located about three miles north of the prekindergarten-through-12th-grade school in the rolling hills of western Wisconsin, was decked out Friday for the weekend's homecoming activities.
The criminal complaint said a student who said he was a friend of Hainstock's told investigators that the shooter told him there wasn't going to be a homecoming this year and that Klang would not make it through the weekend.

Eric Hainstock, 15, told police he strode into Weston Schools before classes started Friday with a shotgun and a revolver and gunned down Principal John Klang because Hainstock was upset with a reprimand Klang had given him and teachers hadn't stopped a group of students he claimed was harassing him, according to a criminal complaint.
The shooting left in shock this town of 300 tucked away in rolling bluffs and farm fields 70 miles northwest of Madison.

CAZENOVIA, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say a principal has been shot at a school complex in southwestern Wisconsin, but all the students are safe and unharmed.
A Sauk County Sheriff's Captain Michael Haifeman says a suspect is in custody and the principal has been hospitalized.
The school is in the town of Cazenovia, a community of about 300 about an hour northwest of Madison.
