Communist Party of Canada - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The name of the Cecil-Ross Society comes from the intersection of Cecil Street and Ross Street in Toronto where the headquarters of the party was located.
The former Communists retained the Cecil-Ross Society as a political foundation to continue their political efforts.
The Cecil-Ross Society took with it the rights to the Canadian Tribune, which had been the party's weekly newspaper for decades, as well as roughly half of the party's assets.

The Cecil-Ross Society was a socialist educational foundation operated by the former majority of the Communist Party of Canada after they were forced to terminate their association with the party in 1992 in a political and legal dispute following the fall of the Soviet Union.
The Cecil-Ross Society held the assets retained by the majority but was not a political party and was restrained by the strictures of the Societies Act only being allowed to utilize its resources for educational and research purposes rather than for party political activity.
After several years, the Cecil Ross Society disbanded its central organization and divided its remaining funds amongst its local branches throughout the country.

George Hewison - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Canadian Tribune and the Cecil-Ross Society (a society with strict injunctions on use of funds) were allotted to the group around Hewison who were to leave the party.
The Cecil-Ross Society also attempted to publish another magazine in BC, Ginger, but it failed after two issues.
In recent years, Hewison has supported himself through a gas station and convenience store he owns near Peterborough, Ontario and continues to investigate the history of Twentieth Century communism, including the rise and fall of the Soviet Union and its significance to Canada.

 cars - Miguel Figueroa
Since most of the the old party's assets were now the property of the Hewison-led Cecil Ross Society, the CPC convention decided to launch a new newspaper, the People's Voice, to replace the old Canadian Tribune.
An out of court settlement resulted in the Hewison leadership relinquishing the name "Communist Party of Canada" to the minority while taking most of the old party's assets to form the Cecil-Ross Society which was to be a publishing and educational foundation.
The new party with only a few hundred members was much smaller than the old one and had lost a number of assets, including the party's headquaters at 24 Cecil Street in Toronto.

 the Illuminati
Robert Gaylon Ross's unique twist is to relate the "alternative physics" of Cecil Ross to the world of conspiracies.
Ross is owner of Ross International Enterprises (RIE) and is the author of nine books in progress.
RIE is "a private company chartered to do anything that is legal, ethical and moral, anywhere in the world." Ross started RIE when he couldn't find a publisher for his manuscript, Who's Who of the Elite, an expose of the elite.

A bike-a-thon was held for the Society of Retarded Citizens with 2,500 riders raising a total of $38,000.

Ranjani urges us to stay back for an open clinic organized by the Society at St. John's on Monday in which four Hemophilia experts, including Dr. Cecil Ross, will examine the Society members for free.
Cecil confirmed that there is no need for any amputation and promised to take up the two cases.

Ross defends persist: they go out of their way to make this most private of matters public; in the process they promote the antiquated, destructive and pointless idea that homosexuality is a "disease" and that homosexuals should be "re-educated" or simply quarantined from society.
Ross correctly points out, anyone who dares to disagree with them -- even in the mildest of terms -- is branded homophobic, intolerant, or a hateful Christian zealot.
Such public statements may be less outwardly violent acts than lynching, but they sway otherwise indifferent citizens in voting booths and maim our children with prejudice and ignorance.

 Welcome to guyanachronicle.com sports
United Kingdom resident Cecil Ross on visit here last year, was impressed with the boxers’ performance and their sacrifice and dedication with limited gear.
In spite of the beliefs of former generations that men were superior to women, a belief that existed in nearly every society and culture around the world, the realisation that men and women are equal is becoming more and more established.
On his return to the UK, Ross whose father was a boxer, sought the help of other boxers and collected equipment for the Albouystown gym.

ARCHIVED DISCUSSION: Should Canada make Nelson Mandela an honorary citizen?
You may know that the statue of white racist and colonialist Cecil Ross(sp?) has been brazenly on display in the down town core for years.
It is incredibly naive for one to think that the rules in a democratic society should apply in a police state(peaceful protest, moarl persuasion yadayada).
Given the way the blacks were treated the transition has been remarkably smooth, things could have been much worse if the ANC leadership hasn't exercised enormous restriant and shown remarkable willingness for reconciliation.

I give this Society my blessing, with the hope and prayer that its labors to date are but signs of greater and more useful work for Christ and His Church in the years to come.
After Frank Parater's death, so noble and heroic, the ladies present voted to form a Society to help spread the true faith in our State and especially in the rural sections.
I am especially pleased to heartily approve of your Virginia Aid Society, because it makes so evident the zeal that inflames the hearts of our Catholic laity.

-- Data Supplement - Webchat transcript: Learning from low income countries -- BMJ
No society has advanced while its women are disempowered.
Carol_Dawn_Patricia_Hillier: Ashok - I think that if we focus on technology, medicine and evidence we may have some difficulty in learning form developing countries - but if we focus on community action, women's roles in society and the foundations of health - then I believe we have a lot to learn.
Although on the issue of technology, just today I was hearing at a health meeting that more than 12 years ago workers in Malawi were using hand held computers to record their observations as they were caring for people with leprosy.

 Richard Prince's Journal-isms™
The premise behind the question from Cecil Cross of The Panther newspaper at Clark Atlanta University was evident from looking around the room.
"The government's old blood quantum principle, designed to gradually assimilate Indians into white society as their degrees of tribal blood were diluted by centuries of interracial marriage, is working.
"If we do, tribes will melt into society at large just as the U.S. government intended at the peak of its anti-Indian fervor generations ago.
