Cedynia (German: Zehden) is a town in Poland, in West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Gryfino County.
In 1252 Zehden (Cedynia) became a part of Mark Brandenburg and in 1278 the Cistercians erected Frauenkloster Zehden (cloister for females).
In 1701 Zehden became a part of the Kingdom of Prussia, (previously Brandenburg-Prussia) and in 1945 with the Soviet Union conquest the eastern Brandenburg part of Germany came under Polish administration and Zehden was renamed Cedynia.

The Battle of Cedynia (or Zehden) happened on 24 June 972 during the rule of Duke Mieszko I, the first Christian ruler of Poland.
There was a war raging over the western border of the young country, because Mieszko wanted to capture the lightly defended and economically important estuary of the Oder River.
Also there was a town of Cedynia a bit deeper.
