 | | The total array of families in the broad sense, using Cronquist's nomenclature, are the Celastraceae, Hippocrateaceae, Stackhousiaceae, Salvadoraceae, Aquifoliaceae, Icacinaceae, Cardiopteridaceae and Corynocarpaceae, or eight of the 12 families. |
 | | The flowers, however, are typical of Celastraceae and the fruit falls well within the range of variation for the family although the large size and the woodiness of the capsule is somewhat unexpected. |
