		Hole's new album marks the final stages of grunge rock, for this female-based grunge rock band of years past continues with the power of rock.
		It is their follow-up to what was their breakthrough album, Live Through This (with songs such as "Doll Parts" and "Violet").
		The album may be more "pop" than their previous offerings (sounding close to Liz Phair in parts, especially early on "Heaven Tonight") but hey, everyone needs to make some money.

		This Celebrity album is probably one of the single best releases ever to come from Doghouse.
		Celebrity combines the moodiness and vocal delivery of The Cure, the winding and swirling guitars and drums of Radiohead and a dash of U2's darker material ("Gone," for example) to make a truly incredible sound.
		Celebrity is already in the experimental phase, and I'm not sure if any of the songs on Lovesick are "happy" enough to garner major radio attention.

	SECTION 3 - hole "celebrity skin"
		The album sounded very close to Nirvana, and rumours were abound about wheather Kurt wrote or at least influenced most of the album.
		With the first three ripping chords which open the album on the title song, Courtney proves that she still "has it." And with the first vocal verse of the ensuing song, "Awful," she proves that she also has something else...versatility and a new direction.
		This album took me a few listens to get into it, and most of the songs are throwaway tracks in my opinion, but there IS enough here to appease the masses (and loyal Hole fans as well).

		This time around, after that album moved millions of copies, they've released an album called Celebrity, none too subtly drawing attention to the fact that...
		The difference is, of course, that the boys have been thirsting for this attention since they were children, so they're entirely comfortable with their position as kings of teen pop, and they celebrate their celebrity.
		And, let it not be said that they're not clever, since "Pop" isn't just a defense of their music, it stands as a rallying cry for their fans.

		'Celebrity Skin'--the album not the magazine who is suing the band for using its name--is awful and there's simply no other way to put it.
		Yes, Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins wrote some of the music on this album, but don't be confused and swayed by the press, this album is horrible.
		This, as much as anything, is probably the reason we have to shell this album so mercilessly.

		What makes Celebrity Skin more than another good rock album, however, is Love's lyrics, which remain confessional and scathing, addressing such topics as physical abuse ("Hit So Hard"), drugs ("Use Once and Destroy"), the music industry ("Awful," "Boys on the Radio"), and her late husband's suicide ("Reasons to Be Beautiful").
		Be that as it may "Celebrity Skin" is hardly an upbeat, cheerful album.
		If you bought "Celebrity Skin" back in 1998 and were disappointed, try giving it another spin, without trying to compare it "Live though this." You may be pleasantly surprised.

		With Celebrity being their third album release (not including special / holiday releases), it would be an understatement to say the boy band has established a foothold in the music industry.
		Celebrity remains a hot commodity as fans are barely settling down from No Strings Attached.
		While Celebrity has already seen the success of its predecessors, the question that arises is whether there will be any signs of slowing by *N Sync, and if that time is now.

		After listening to this album twice, I had to sell it ASAP because it was pop music at its absolute worse.

		Sure there are a lot of celebrity career background books around; there are a lot of celebrity biographies and autobiographies available--but never before has there been a publication that gives the reader so much insight into the persona of so many celebrities at one time.
		Imagine having celebrity birth dates, place of birth, first career break and most memorable career events and many other interesting details at your finger tips; and all of the data is confirmed by the celebrities themselves--"first-hand knowledge, not speculation".
		I thoroughly enjoyed reading the interesting "Legacy Quotes" that each celebrity wrote, like "Be careful where you aim, dreams come true", "Success is not measured by heights attained but by obstacles overcome", or how about this lively one "When you live, live in clover, cause when you die, you'll be dead all over".

		When I first heard the first hit and title track of this album, "Celebrity Skin", the first thing that came to my mind was "Pop-Rock".
		Even in "Celebrity Skin" with lines like "wilted and faded somewhere in Hollywood/I'm glad I came here, with your pound of flesh" refer to a sold-out, dead-careered actress.
		This actually isn't one of those albums where the more you listen to it, them or you like it.

	Rolling Stone 'Celebrity' Album Review
		It's not a totally radical departure: Much of Celebrity merely ups the ante on No Strings Attached's tentative steps to integrate techno in their R&B pop.
		Michael Jackson went through a similar transformation when he went solo, and much of Celebrity shares that icon's popularity-bred defensiveness and fear of lecherous love.
		Underground club-music hero Brian "BT" Transeau goes overground with Timberlake for the beat-driven first single, "Pop," and unsung remixers Riprock 'n' Alex G go even further with Chasez on "The Two of Us" and "Up Against the Wall." The smooth-and-schizo two-step dance beats on those tracks are a perfect fit for Nsync's fearful joy.
