C class cruiser - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The C-class were light cruisers of the Royal Navy, and were built in a number of sub-classes known as the Caroline (six ships), Cambrian (six ships), Centaur (two ships), Caledon (four ships), Ceres (five ships) and Carlisle (five ships) classes.
In the mid-1930s it was decided to modernize and refit the C class cruisers for anti-aircraft work.
The aim was to convert all 13 cruisers of the late C-classes, the Caledons, Ceress and Carlisles.

In astronomy, class of asteroid whose orbit crosses that of at least one gas giant planet and whose orbital period is not in stable synchrony with that gas giant, meaning they will eventually crash into the planet or evolve in some other way.
The name originated because the first of the class to be discovered was named Chiron, after the wisest of the centaurs from Greek mythology, and by convention all new discoveries in this class are named after centaurs.
Most of the centaurs are icy bodies from the Kuiper belt, which will become comets if their orbits are perturbed to take them nearer to the Sun.

Invincible class aircraft carrier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The original class design was for a 12,500 tonne anti-submarine escort carrier as a complement to the much larger CVA-01 fleet carrier project.
Other improvements were made to the class during the 1980s and early 1990s, with probably the most important being the increase of the ski jump angle on Invincible and Illustrious to match the 12° slope of Ark Royal.
The two most recent wartime deployments of the class have seen them in their secondary LPH role, as it was officially judged that Sea Harriers could provide no useful role in the missions.

Star Fleet Review - Concorde Class Large Exploration Cruiser
Laid down in 2255, the USS Concorde was intended to be the first of a new class of heavy cruiser.
The delays in getting the class into service meant that they were outclassed by many other newer types, and the unconventional firing arcs made the ships unpopular in military circles.
Centaur, which finally commissioned in 2274 was also a Mk 3 ship, and was again assigned to the long range exploration role.

When a script requires a new class of vessel the budget is sometimes unable to cater for the building and development of such models, for they can invariably run to tens of thousands of dollars.
The Centaur registry of NCC-42043 is certainly in the right area for known ships of this class, such as the Maryland NCC-45109 and Hornet NCC-45231, and the ASDB designation of the Renaissance being a Light Cruiser, or maybe pushing it to a Medium Cruiser, also fits.

 Class Statistics Board
In many ways there are too many classes here to seem sensible, it's just that somehow Starfleet have constructed 80,000 ships since its founding (due to the ship registries we know) and rather than have certain classes having thousands of ships, I was more comfortable with explaining this with a large number of classes...
If the amounts of ships figure is in brackets, it indicates that further vessels in that class are planned, and the current number is only provisional, this obviously is only pertinent to 24th century classes still under construction.
Final power values given are a fair indication of that class' actual armour and hitpoints capability, and a ship whose power is 100, is there or thereabouts ten times as powerful as a ship that is rated at 10.

The designers felt that using existing components from classes such as the Miranda, the developmental Ambassador and the Excelsior would be an excellent way forward and began work with that assumption.
