Hockey fans will be glad to hear the familiar sound of the Barton organ from Chicago Stadium -- it was re-created for the new place, something that took over a year to do.
The Blackhawks inaugurated hockey in the United Center on January 25, 1995, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 5-1.
The United Center was one of the first arenas in the country with the ability to have a semi drive right through the loading dock and out onto the floor for load in/load out.
