New Centerville and Berlin fire departments have the only farm rescue teams in Somerset County, according to Jim Saylor, third assistant fire cheif.
Larry Saylor, second assistant fire chief, said because the New Centerville company is a mutual aid department, it is called on to advise other fire departments in Somerset County on farm rescues.

It was determined by the citizens of New Centerville that a Fire Company had to be formed.
Along with Berlin, New Centerville is one of only two farm rescue 'teams' in Somerset County.

I also remember a sighting I later saw on the news that took place over the town in broad daylight that was witnessed by almost a hundred people, occurring in the late 80's or early 90's.
It was reading of the recent New Jersey Turnpike sightings that made me decide to submit this, partially in the hope that someone out there can enlighten me on any follow-up to this sighting, as we returned to England shortly afterwards.
In all they gave quite a show and kept us occupied all the way into New York, where the buildings hid most of the sky but at times we were still able to catch a glimpse.
