Centipede game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In game theory, the centipede game is an extensive form game in which two players take turns choosing either to take a slightly larger share of a slowly increasing pot, or to pass the pot to the other player.
Although the original centipede game had a limit of 100 rounds (hence the name), any game with this structure but a different number of rounds is called a centipede game.
The unique Nash equilibrium of these games is for the first player to take the pot on the very first round of the game; however in empirical tests relatively few players do so.

 Wikinfo | Video game
A video game is a game played using an electronic device with a visual display.
The term "video game" is often not considered to include computer games and coin-operated arcade games, both because historically the games in these three categories were very different, and also because the activity of playing these three types of games is different.
Video games are made by developers, sometimes individuals, but almost always a team consisting of designers, graphic designers and other artists, programmers, sound designers, musicians, and other technicians.

There are two different types of gameplay (which can be played single or multiplayer): a 3D-ish remake of the the arcade game, and a whole new 3D adventure game with a bit of a storyline to it (evil bugs invade a peaceful town) which mostly makes for a good excuse for some groovy pre-game cinematics.
The Arcade game is similar to the original, with the exception of the angle of the playing field and different colored, more 3D-ish graphics.
The 3D environments in the Adventure game are pretty good -- having the different camera angles to choose from helps give you a good feel for where you are and what’s around you.

The game was sadly another rare sight in the UK - as was the bug on the earlier games which allowed people in the know to position themselves in such a way that they jousted the 'unbeatable' pterodactyl for 1,000 pts a time while the last enemy was stuck in the lava.
The game could be set to end after the first round or go on indefinitely but poor reliability of this new technology, repetitious nature of gameplay and the novelty factor soon had the game in the video knacker's yard.
Game manufacturers weren't in it for us idiots who wanted to play all day for 20p or beat a program by exposing faults, they were there to make money and money for their operating customers.
