It was learnt that a report compiled by the inspectors, comprising a team from the Central Bank of Kenya and Swiss consultants hired by the Federal Government concluded that the suspected laundered funds could not be traced to the books and files at the bank.
Both the Central Bank of Kenya and two representatives of a Swiss consultancy, have been retained by the Nigerian government to conduct the investigations.
TNBL is just one of 20 other banks, including overseas branches of some of the large banks operating in Kenya, on the list of banks being investigated by the government of Nigeria.
