The Ethnologue links many PNG villages with language names and is an excellent resource; it is available for searching on the Web and is also available in a printed edition.
Some place-names occur multiply in PNG, for example, there is the well-known town of Wau in Morobe Province, as well as lesser-known villages called Wau in East Sepik and Madang Provinces.

In an interview with Radio Australia Richard Johnson, the PNG divisional director for DRD (the South African-based manager of the Tolukuma mine) has declared "quite outrageous", allegations that villagers downstream have died or suffered ill health as a result of its operations.
In fact CAA did not do so; it reported local peoples' claims that the mine is responsble for deaths and ill-health, and called for independent analyses of heavy metals contamination and the prevalence of disease.
The PNG government is supposed to have carried out its own health study in March but the results have not been published.

The Central Province is situated on the south side of the southern Owen Stanley Range and its coast faces the Coral Sea.
There is at present little aquaculture activities in the province, except a crocodile farm near Furimutu, Hiri District, that was, unfortunately, not scheduled to visit during the survey, and trout farming practices in Kosipe, Goilala District, that was not visited by the mission, because of cancellation of flight.
Rainbow trout was introduced to the Central Province in 1979 from the Mendi Hatchery, Southern Highlands Province.

A PNG Harbours Board spokesman said the Bao Ji Shan ran onto the reef at 1.30pm on Sunday while attempting to find the passage through the reef into the harbor.
The communication problems have also made it difficult to know where the ship originated from or who or which company it belonged to.
