 | | Ireland fully subscribes to article 1 which recognizes the right of all peoples to self-determination, to determine their political status, to pursue their economic, social and cultural development, and to dispose freely of their natural resources. |
 | | Ireland is a sovereign, independent, democratic State and, in accordance with the Constitution of Ireland, the Irish Government accepts the generally recognized principles of international law, observes the Charter of the United Nations, recognizes that all powers of Government derive from the people, and is fully committed to the principles contained in this article. |
